I go to a decent university and major in physics and never have this problem.
My classes have roughly 25 people. Only 2-3 people answer the teacher's questions posed to the class or ever ask questions.
Most people in my quantum physics classes are perpetually confused.

firstly 0/10 for woman lecturer. This is science not sociology. Second students taking an interest to ensure they grasp a concept is a good thing. If your not going to ask questions why pay for the class? Just watch you tube video's instead. They are paying for an education and ensuring they get it.
