When the spinning ball-Earth is finally exposed worldwide for the 400+ year deception it was, Earth's entire population will suddenly be faced with the reality that every government, every space agency, university, secret society, religious organization, mainstream and alternative media outlet have ALL been duplicitous in propping up a monstrous manipulation to fleece and control the masses. The resulting mass mental exodus away from the control system is exactly what humanity needs. Once the flat Earth truth gets out, these lying politicians, spokesmen, reporters and teachers suddenly change from being heralded voices of authority to being ridiculed, shunned and denounced as they deserve. Once the flat Earth truth gets out, these governments, universities, media outlets and other entangled organizations which have long been hard at work weaving this multi-generational ball-Earth myth, suddenly and completely lose all credibility. Once the truth of our flat Earth gets out, so does the truth of these few elite families/societies who have kept this most important and fundamental reality from us for these hundreds of years! Essentially, once the flat Earth truth gets out, so does every other important truth by proxy, because this "mother-of-all-conspiracies" holds under its umbrella literally ALL of the other conspiracies, and exposes them.

So how are the NPCs on this board explaining the constant delays, pushbacks, and general faggotry regarding "space" travel and "space" missions?

Surely they must sense something is wrong, why all these rockets fail time and time again and missions get aborted and postponed over and over again?

In response to speculation regarding the condition of the V2 Minis, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to clarify that the satellites were “experiencing some issues” and that some of them will be deorbited while others would still be tested. Starship could be a space station in it’s own right. This is why the past couple threads I’ve been asking “why not just have space station variants of Starship as well with all the advantages”. So far I have yet to even hear an objection to this. I wonder what cost differences would be between a Mir and Starship space station. Starships payload capacity is that of Mir, and it has 3 times the usable volume. It can also be deorbited to fix any major issues on the fly, and would cost significantly less to launch, fuel and repair being a Starship.

>SPACE GARAGE – Scientists expect spacecraft to need repairs on lengthy trips and are planning ways to service ailing ships. This drawing illustrates an idea for a space repair facility conceived by engineers at General Electric’s Missile and Space Vehicle Department. It consists of a light weight, collapsible framework with a plastic cover which could be carried as emergency equipment on a spacecraft. The repair depot would be pressurized to provide a suitable atmosphere for repairmen. Spacecraft would enter the sphere through a panel opening and then be secured inside. The spacecraft shown here has suffered a puncture from a meteorite. A panel of the ship is being replaced inside the “garage.”

>a 2020 report said that Iron Beam was thought to have a maximum effective range of up to 7 km, and could destroy missiles, UAVs (drones), and mortar shells around four seconds after the twin high-energy fiber-optic lasers make contact
>By 2023, energy levels could reach 100 kW or more and the system could focus a beam to the diameter of a coin at a distance of 10 km (6.2 mi)

I wonder what the SpaceX waterproofing solution is for the tiles?

AFAIK from what we know the Starship tiles are fundamentally of the same composition as the space shuttle tiles, just mostly with a different mounting method (although on the nose and the flaps the mounting method is similar to the shuttle, using a felt liner and adhesive).
They also supposedly have a different waterproofing solution:
The Shuttle tiles had to be re-waterproofed individually, every flight, with a special syringe gun; their initial spray on method (Literally Scotchgard, i am not kidding) degraded the tile adhesive and resulted in thousands of tiles becoming unbonded on one of the early flights.
The problem is that the tiles were extremely porous, the majority were 96% air by volume, and if water got into the tiles and froze, it would destroy the TPS.

Presumably whatever solution SpaceX has is reusable and fitting with their high cadence plans.

Yes, it's the first space station outside the magnetosphere, I believe it's the most powerful electric propulsion system ever demonstrated in space, the first demonstration of the Advanced Electric Propulsion System, and the first autonomous deployment of large ROSAs, much larger than what was on DART. Probably more that I'm forgetting, I know it's going to get the Canadarm3.
>they could have used that money to develop something sensible, lets say 5 different competing companies to develop a fully reusable rocket,
Why? This is something already happening without public funding, unnecessary because of Starship and it would exceed the cost of Gateway. Failed rocket companies are actually bad for spaceflight.
>the money for gateway could have been used to develop an actual lunar base on the moon
Don't make things up. At most for that amount of you would get a bouncy castle like BEAM or a shitty unpressured 3D printed structure. An actual lunar base would far exceed Gateway in cost.

>SEP allows it to enter any orbit about the moon it wants
>NRHO allows for access to south and north pole and anywhere
>allows for longer lunar missions than Orion + HLS alone
>gives the lunar orbit crew something to do while waiting for HLS instead of just being stuck in the capsule
>first ever manned station orbiting another body with an attached lander to land wherever and whenever you want
>only way NASA can get their desired 30+ day Lunar surface expedition or 4 astronaut moonwalks
>instead of being stuck in one location allows for HLS to make trips to multiple sites around the moon on the poles, equator, farside, etc

Seriously can't praise Gateway enough, it gives you so much more bang for your buck especially when you realize how well it synergizes with NASA's HLS strategy and ISRU for HLS goals

Consider that with Gateway operational the average lunar mission will be astronauts docking to Gateway, getting set up, doing science and whatever at Gateway then a pair undocking with HLS to a minimum 7 day and maximum 30 day stay on the moon, while the astronauts aboard Gateway are well stocked thanks to Dragon XL/HTV-X and get additional science done, and most of all possibly allowing for extensions and multiple landings where all 4 astronauts get to experience a moonwalk sortie (7 days 1st pair, 7 days 2nd pair, then aboard Orion back home is well within Orions designed 21 day on orbit capability)

With HLS being able to take off whenever they desire from Gateway and land wherever on the moon you are no longer limited to being stuck in a single location, hence NASA announcing recently the plan of multiple Artemis base camps. More exploration, more science, more locations visited, thats what Gateway allows.

And there's also how it makes Artemis more resilient with all the international partnerships

Artemis IV is

>managing astronauts doing meaningful science on surface and orbit

You can do that from the surface of the Moon. And do so using less propellant than sailing back and forth to NRHO. Especially when using it as a depot for ISRU would require expending more fuel, time, and effort to truck processed fuel up from the lunar surface.

So Gateway is less than a ton or did you get confused about the subject? The specific power of small reactors with stirling engines is even worse, I was assuming at least JIMO size with a supercritical carbon dioxide brayton cycle.

>The subject is when SEP is superior to NEP, Gateway isn't a SEP vehicle because of something like NEP being an inferior choice of performance.
As explained, it's superior everywhere within the asteroid belt. You would get laughed out of the room if you wanted to make Gateway NEP, not just because of the inferior performance but also the absurd cost. It's just not a real consideration and I don't think you have a point. A radioisotope battery with a short half-life would be a different story in terms of performance but then you're really limited in terms of scale and the cost would likely be much greater than something like Kilopower due to the increased regulatory burden of working with a gamma emitter and the cost of the isotope itself. Cobalt-60 is the leading candidate for something like but the industry is having trouble meeting the demand for its use in sterilization, I don't know if even a small REP probe would be feasible. As mentioned in the past the launch would need presidential approval.

P.S. Gateway is already gimped because it's designed as space station and not an interplanetary space craft using electric propulsion. I don't even want to know how slow it would be if it had a reactor.

Or just 34 square meters of PV, which at Saturn that would equal the output of an MMRTG, assuming they're 25% efficient. In comparison Solar Cruiser will be 1,672 square meters, 50 times greater in area. The MMRTG is 2.8 W/kg, so just a 300 W/kg panel would have a better specific power at Saturn. It's suggested in mission proposals that power sails could exceed 1000 W/kg.

>> No.15334943

When you go single, I'll say direct mission to the Moon, you're limited on the supplies, either with the Lander or with Orion. With the Gateway, with just with one logistics module, we think we can extend to about twice the mission duration, so 30 days to 60 days. Obviously, the more crew time you have in lunar orbit helps us with research in the human aspects of living in deep space. The more duration we have, certainly that'll help us buy down significant risk with the extreme environments that we're going to be subjecting our crews to. Because we've got to go figure out how to operate in deep space. Obviously we'll demonstrate new hardware and offer that sustainable flexible path for our Lunar Lander system. With the Gateway, the thinking is we'll be able to reuse the ascent modules potentially multiple times. And again, if we can get mission duration beyond the 30 days, it's going to offer us some additional environmental capabilities. We think it's a tremendous risk buy down asset, not only to explore the Moon sustainably, but to prove out some things that we need to do to get to Mars.

No because your max velocity is determined by delta-v, Starship could only achieve about 7 km/s without gravity assists, maybe about 12 km/s if you had a vacuum optimized Super Heavy like kick stage. There are other types of propulsion that can reach a destination far quicker even if they have to spend more time decelerating since they can't do the short duration burns like chemical can. They would need more delta-v to do the same transit since they can't take advantage of the Oberth effect but at the end of the day you cannot travel vast distances in space quickly without high Isp, it's fundamental to the rocket equation, along with initial mass and final mass.
