In 2021-22 flu was much more widespread but still noticeably underperforming. This year, so 22-23 flu was really bad, it skyrocketed. I had the flu earlier this year and they symptoms were pretty bad, but still not as bad as the 2017-18 flu season. Obviously lockdowns and mask mandates suppressed it.

Annual flu deaths are based on CDC computer models and not on actual cause of death listed on death certificates.
