Give it to me straight: Is man-made global warming real?

I'm inclined to think it's fake simply because of the people who are pushing it, that have pushed other lies in the past and present, and how they are using it as an excuse to enslave humanity.
But I will admit I haven't looked into it much yet, it's not as easily disproved even by laymen as the covid lies were for example. Maybe it is somewhat real and they're just using it as an excuse to enslave humanity?

We're dumping massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, we can tell it's fossil fuels due to isotope ratios. We would expect this to increase global temperatures, and they have gone up slightly.

Why even make this thread? There's obviously no sequence of words anyone can put together that will convince you, you can't understand any explanation given and will either accept or refuse to accept it based on whether you already agree with it.
CO2 is a greenhouse gas, we release tons of it, it makes the Earth warmer. The real kicker though is that while it may disrupt our current lifestyle it isn't going to do jack shit to the Earth except promote plant growth.

Yes. It was predicted over a century ago, based on 19th century thermodynamics, so CO2 heating up the atmosphere really isn't novel or controversial. many of the people who run that site have financial interest in spinning their tall tales, for example this one would be unemployed if he did anything other than push the big lie of global warming:
>John Cook is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Climate Change Communication Research Hub at Monash University. He obtained his PhD at the University of Western Australia, studying the cognitive psychology of climate science denial. His research focus is understanding and countering misinformation about climate change. In 2007, he founded Skeptical Science, a website which won the 2011 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for the Advancement of Climate Change Knowledge and 2016 Friend of the Planet Award from the National Center for Science Education. John authored the book Cranky Uncle vs. Climate Change, that combines climate science, critical thinking, and cartoons to explain and counter climate misinformation. He also co-authored the college textbooks Climate Change: Examining the Facts and Climate Change Science: A Modern Synthesis and the book Climate Change Denial: Heads in the Sand. In 2013, he published a paper finding 97% scientific consensus on human-caused global warming, a finding that has been highlighted by President Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

man's activity has relatively minuscule impact on climate compared to things like variation in the activity of... the sun. And big volcanic eruptions. sure, we have an impact but we can't hold a candle to the real players.

the data is flawed/misrepresented/disingenuously discussed. This isn't the hottest the earth has been. Temperature data from ground-based stations isn't nearly as reliable as satellite-based measurements - a huge percentage of quality 'weather stations' are based at major airports/within cities. Even something as simple as being around huge swaths of pavement artificially increases the temperature in the immediate area by a few degrees. They fixate on data from the last like 150 years and conveniently ignore historical data we can get from ice cores and such for thousands upon thousands of years.

The climate is always changing, and humans have been lucky to find themselves mostly living within one of the most stable periods of earth's climate in the historical record. Pollution is bad, we need to reduce emissions and get better at recycling and shit like that... but this blind obsession over CO2 and stupidly wasting more resources/causing more problems chasing after CO2 reduction is stupid and leading to all kinds of unintended harms. We should be investing a ton of R&D dollars into figuring out new sustainable/renewable energy methods & into maximizing the efficiency of current tech.

I wanna see some cool shit - like more geothermal stuff; and how about some wave/tide-based energy production tech? Hell, combine a big wave/tide-based energy generation plants/big off-shore power generation using solar or wind and mash that up with some big desalinization plants - that's what I'm talkin about. Fuck oil pipelines, lets make some fresh water pipelines - now we're getting somewhere. Install some efficient water parks/big ass water slides along the way for the kiddos. They can use old wind turbine blades to make the slides, everyone wins

Just because you make shit up doesn't mean everyone else does. Your failure to bother learning how to tell the two apart, or how scientists tell the two apart, is nobody's failing but your own. You just invent conspiracy theories to justify your laziness. Nobody buys it. We just find you pathetic.

the USA federal government has a large censorship & propaganda operation which is aimed very specifically at preventing anyone from contradicting their political narratives, most of the large research universities are involved.
acting like you can just tell them to stfu & gtfo is a bit shortsighted.

Greenhouse gas may have reached a saturation point (ie, the Earth won't heat up much more, despite us pumping more CO2 into it):

Anyway, there's no reason not to switch to nuclear now, so if climate change pushes us the better, but "renewables" are a huge lie.

NTA. Real question is, why are you lying?
>>Doubling CO2 concentrations with water vapor feedback increases the surface temperature warming to ∆θ0 = 2.3 K from ∆θ0 = 1.4 K, or by a factor of 1.6.
Versus what you're saying,
>Further CO2 emissions are irrelevant
Pretty clear who the liar is. As usual. This paper is not even considering the cascading effects of warming leading to further release of currently trapped gasses either.
