/Chem/bros, if you like organic synthesis check out my newest video on pagodane.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6F8-lu0owQ

Although it seems quite useless beyond its complexity and aesthetics, it has some nice learnings to teach us

If you want to cook meth, better check out non-youtube sources - although there is this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@bb.expert

I just want to recyclate all the styrene into something usefull.

Well all the sources list various ways, but I never found a full guide on how to styrene -> phenylacetone, that's as simple as it can get.

Bump for any other ideas some of you might have (preferably non drug related lol)

Good video. Well done.
Do you think aromaticity is still a worth while term? Do we still need it or has it simply been grandfathered in to the lexicon to such that we take it for granted?

Thanks!! Definitely need to keep it, and keep pushing our boundaries of understanding (special cases like the one in video or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homoaromaticity)), to help understand quantum mechanics and physical chemistry better

This is what I mean. Why should something be "homoaromatic" as opposed to simply "aromatic".
Just look at the iupac definition https://goldbook.iupac.org/terms/view/A00442
The term is bloated and fuzzy, and constantly being diluted with more discovered types of aromaticity. You don't need to invoke a special property called aromaticity or resonance to explain away the characteristics of benzene or dodecaborate.
