I like it when numbers get counted and go up more. I don't like the words though.

Million
Billion
Trillion
Quadrillion
Quintillion
Sextillion
Septillion
Octillion
Nonillion
Decillion

These words make numbers feel less clear to talk about. If I tell you I have a billion billion, you might guess this is a quadrillion, because bi means two and quad means four and I have two of the twos so that should be four? It isn't. A billion billion is one quintillion. Why did two twos make a five?

A billion billion billion is one octillion rather than one sextillion l guess you can look at it and say that kind of makes sense, since two to the third is eigth, but then why was billion billion a quintillion and why is a billion billion billion billion an undecillion?

Is there some algorithm that determines English names for numbers?

start counting at "million", adding a step for every tier away you go, and also adding 1 extra. then do your multiplication, and add another extra for each word (assuming it's the same word repeated, at least)
million million = 2 "million" = 2(1)+1=3 -> trillion
million million million = 3 "million" = 3(1)+1+1=5 -> quintillion
billion billion = 2 "billion" = 2(1+1)+1=5 -> quintillion
billion billion billion = 3 "billion" = 3(1+1)+1+1=8 -> octillion
billion billion billion billion = 4 "billion" = 4(1+1)+1+1+1=11 -> undecillion
etc.

Every 3 zeros passed 1000 is the next one. So 1 000 000 is one million, 1 000 000 000 is one billion, 1 000 000 000 000 is one trillion and so on. EZ. So the bi- in billion means two sets of 3 zeros beyond 1 000. 1 000 000 000

Thank you for telling me. This makes sense now. I think I will use the English words and write a Computer Program that can change Maid Space into English.

Do you know where to get a full list of all of them?
