a Ph. D. in Chem E is essentially just going to be doing chemistry anyway (like research level laboratory chemistry), and the Chemist Ph. D. often has a much firmer basis in synthetic chemistry and is applicable to a wider range of fields.

I know Ph. D. Chemists who make semiconductors for a living.

My 2 cents goes to nuclear. We have to learn fluid dynamics and all the mechanical shit for actual reactor building. We also have to have a much broader background in physics because of the sheer properties of the different types of radiation and particles involved.

Chemical engineering has little to do with "chemistry". The common points are thermodynamics and kinetics I suppose. Chemical engineering used to be a sub-discipline of mechanical engineering after all. There's quite a bit of fluid mechanics, energy balance, mass balance and such in Chem E.

However, everyone has a different idea of what Chem E actually is. I can say that being good at chemistry is not required to be a good chemical engineer.

I have met maybe 3 engineers I didn't want to stab to death after talking to them for two minutes. 3.I am a junior in college. When I say "school", I mean "university" which is a kind of school.
4.Engineers, when put in a physics class, say things like, "there's no example in the book like this." They also haven't created anything original since Tesla. Physicists invent it. Engineers mass produce it at a lower quality and cost.
