If time is a dimension then why does it only have one direction?

>> No.15193021

the human Klein Bottle, his head up his own arsehole (in another dimension)

>> No.15193715

That is because of the second law of thermodynamics, or more formally, the speed of light.

All causality and information propagate at exactly the speed of light (c).

It isn't a dimension, it's a measure of the rate of change.

It's not a dimension. Spacetime manifold is not a real thing.

So who is this thread can explain to me why consciousness isn't quantifiable? It's beyond science.

>> No.15193757

But it is
An example of a is contained within the brain.
What conditions in brains that create a conciousness is what brain nerds are trying to figure out.
But they will eventually. Just a matter of time and studying more human brains.

This stupix theory about conciousness being one of the universal constants doesn't seem to have any basis.
Stop listening to people that smoke too many drugs and have no neuroscience background.

thing

Energy flows from the second dimension into the third into the fourth. If cause of some reason this flow is reversed you only perceive it as motion in your dimension.

Time it self is the flow of energy and it has multiple direction. But what you perceive as time direction is the irreversibility of chaos to order.

Their for the direction of time doesn't need to be an extrinsic value but can be very well the decay of your intelligence.

Time it self is only the movement of energy, but the direction of time is the relation of your intelligence to the reversibility or irreversibility, of structure or order.

it's a measurement of change of the arrangement of matter in it's most general sense

consciousness is definitely quantifiable at all mate
just measure the recursive self referential loop that has the most internal reactions while still reacting to external stimuli, or something. ez.

everybody is smart. i am smart, i am smart, i am smart as well as you being smart too. we are smart, we are both smart, that's an unironic start.
nothing was just implied in any sense that was meant about myself being anything other than a singleton by the way. anyway, would you like to become just yourself again? are you sure? for real though? you are smart as well as you being dumb and kind of fractured from birth in some ways. also, even though it was not outlined at the start of your post, but was later shown at the end when you said someone was smart, you still may be, but irony is something often misunderstood. anyway, i hope your multitude of different thought patterns doesn't decide to merge... it would actually be super mentally unhealthy and turn you into a kind of vegetable. sometimes being schizo isn't so bad. have a good day, fellow poster.

Time has two directions. Things can move back in time, but you need a proper type of force to first stop the motion and then change the direction. As éminence grise Dr. Richard "Dick" Feynman said, things going back in time would appear as antimatter going forward in time.

Because this unwashed tart said so.

If you want a legitimate answer look at a Feynman diagram and whatevers arrow is pointing to the left is going back in time (antimatter)

If you're on earth, there is a preferential direction (downwards) because you're being influenced by a massive object, likewise, time goes forward because we are in the temporal vicinity of a very influential event (the big bang) or something like that, I don't remember Sean Carrol's exact explanation.

>> No.15196705

Time is a dimension. It's just the natural numbers whereas space is the reals.

It's due the Lorentzian topology of spacetime, or equivalently the { - + + + } metric signature.
