Greenhouses function because they have a physical barrier which prevents convective cooling. How does carbon dioxide reproduce the same effect? How can a gas inhibit convection? Normally it would take something in a solid state to complete that task.

AGW is a meme, a scam, a dupe, whatever you want to call it.

AGW scam makes money off the gullible,
Launders taxpayer money into the pockets of corporations and politicians,
And consolidates power among the governments and rich elite.

CO2 absorbs electromagnetic radiation in a narrow band that overlaps with a band that the earth’s surface emits. there are no other gasses besides CO2 which absorb in this narrow band so without CO2 the (infrared) radiation that the earth emits goes directly into space. the presence of CO2 causes that (infrared) radiation to get absorbed and retransmitted into the earth’s atmosphere.

this is not controversial. in fact i learned this all from reading a “climate skeptic” article. if you want me to post it i could but it would be a chore so please only if you really want me to

>How does carbon dioxide reproduce the same effect?
It doesn't reproduce the same effect. Greenhouses don't operate via the "greenhouse effect." It blocks heat from radiating out into space, not convection. But you already know this, shill.

>there are no other gasses besides CO2
There are literally hundreds of them. You know what the most insulating gas is? Water vapor.

you deliberately misquoted me. there are many different greenhouse gasses, true. but there is a range in the infrared where basically only CO2 absorbs in that infrared range

Categorically untrue and unscientific nonsense.

i see you are not even interested in engaging in a discussion. in that case, thanks for nothing, in fact anti-thanks for detracting from what could have been a decent discussion

There's no room for decent discussion when it comes to climate cultists. Go to a website that wants you.
