You started by assuming there was such a thing as the real numbers when no one ever in history has provided a definition of such a number. Any alleged attempts have always been some strange constructions that have severe logical problems such as circular reasoning or assuming that one can do an infinite number of things when they can't.

pi and the square root of certain numbers is an interesting idea useful in approximation for applied problems which is entirely what these "numbers" are used for in physics and other applications; convenient short-hands useful for solving a problem. But there is nothing about these approximate notions that necessitate that we believe in something called a "real" number or that any of these alleged "definitions" would ever describe such a thing.
