You are given the opportunity to change the very direction of the Human Race. You are approached by a shadow organization that is willing to get rid of Bullshit Politics and have all Nations work through an Organization similar to the UN but more in a technological standpoint.

There would be an end to all conflicts, no Military fueled economies only spending on public support (healthcare, jobs, education) and the bulk of spending would be on scientific progress and experiments to help push Humanity toward a greater path then the one we walk now.

The only drawback is you would loose the right to bare arms and your behavior would be monitered (internet use, public movements, any actual movement you make would be watched outside of your home and you would have to carry an electronic ID at all times)

The plus side to all this is that in ten years the scientific advancement would look like 100 years had passed.

Short sleeve underground resistance for life!

>> No.1512857

Sure, I'd do it.

>> No.1512873

Not really sure. Not carrying arms is fine, monitoring on the other hand, I'm not sure.. I guess, as long as it is computer monitored, and not some guys watching me watch porn, it would be fine. Maybe.

> see the obvious ploy to destroy humanity by removing its defenses
> shoot the messenger in the face
> decapitate head from body
> deliver to nearest global news organization

fuck your shit, no truely benign organization would remove such personal freedoms as self defense

And what would be the need for this?

Would this technocracy be founded on christian principles and force everyone to be heterosexual and have sex thrice a year in the missionary position solely for the sake of reproduction?

Or is it just for the sake of gathering psychological information so the organization(which we'll call... MJ12, for example) can govern us better?

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

Also, my captcha was : accosts me!"

Seemed relevant.

>> No.1512935

what's going to grantee my safety when I'm walking alone on the streets at night? or stop some asshole wanting to start a fighter for looking at him wrong? people need protection and police won't always be around the corner. I'm not going to have a fucking curfew.

and what about hunters? do they lose the right to hunt?

civil rights and liberties outweigh a police state, even IF it's just "monitoring"

I would find the headquarters of this organization, and plant a powerful bomb there. Then, once the changes are made, I would detonate the bomb, killing the leaders.

Now the world is leaderless and in a period of tremendous political upheaval. World wars, depression and rebellion are sure to occur.

I sit back and trollface

There has to be a suitable way to overthrow the government if it becomes corrupt. Im fine with giving up guns is I knew we still had some recourse.

On the other hand, with lack of competition comes stagnation.

>> No.1512969

I'd do it.
And yes I'm an American, for you sophomore sociologists who would turn this into a stereotyping thread.

Oh, the UK.

Then again...
