I have to preface this by saying I AM NOT ANTI VAX. That being said…in 2021 I got the Covid vaccine in June (Moderna). Got the booster in December (Pfizer). A month later, I had to be admitted to the hospital because I was experiencing terrible chest pain.

After getting my blood drawn, I was told by a nurse that my platelet count was at 2, and that they’d have to admit me to the hospital because my troponin levels were also abnormally high. I don’t remember too much after that but I apparently suffered a transient stroke shortly afterwards.
I had to take an insane steroid dosage (60mg) and get platelet transfusions for almost 3 months. I also was told I had somehow developed Lupus, and the Lupus triggered a thrombotic trombocytopenic purpura flare. That sounded ridiculous to me. Is it crazy for me to think the vaccine may have caused all of this? I feel like I can’t talk to people about this. Even the doctors can’t really explain what happened to me, but are adamant that it couldn’t possibly have been because of the Covid vaccine. They told me shit like this is about as rare as getting struck by lightning and that I shouldn’t worry about what really happened. They even want to document my case and publish it, despite it apparently having nothing to do with the Covid vaccine. I search up Covid and TTP and see a fuck ton of reports of very similar things happening after getting a Pfizer shot.

I guess I’m saying all of this to ask the intelligent people in healthcare here (if there are any) what they really think. I can’t help but wonder if I would’ve gone through all of this had I not gotten the vaccine. I wonder if it really would’ve been worse had I gotten Covid instead. The side effects from the steroids and other meds I had to take have literally ruined my life. Heart palpitations, blurry vision, shaky hands, and I’ve been told that I have proteinuria now which could be the start of kidney disease.

The vaccine causes severe autoimmune reactions in a lot of people because of the nature of LNP delivered gene therapies. That's how most people in clinical trials of other similar therapies die. No, the virus would not have cause this to happen to you.

The real important part is that it causes your own cells to express viral spike proteins, making the body identify them as viral cells. Despite being a biochemist your friend seems to think that this is a subunit vaccine (and Novavax is, but the ones you took aren't) or a standard vaccine using an inactivated virus. Even a quick look at the handout for one of these injections will tell you why that's not true.

Also I forgot to mention this. I have to get rituxan infusions every 6 months now because of this. If this is what explained is what happened to me and my own cells are expressing the viral spike protein, is this something that will go away or will I need to get rituxan infusions for the rest of my life? There's no way of knowing. Regarding the vax, you're the human trial. We have no knowledge of how long its effects last or how they differ from normal incidences of those diseases. Regarding autoimmune diseases generally, they're pretty tough to predict and you could get better or not depending on a lot of factors.

I would consider getting on some sort of anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant supplements as long as they're not contraindicated with your medicine, or at least to start eating a healthy diet. Just basic stuff to take care of your body. If you're seeing a specialist they probably have a health management handout with some dietary advice and you could ask them about their opinion.

The LNP is fucking awful and crosses all blood barriers enabling infection in places it really shouldn't (except in mucosal lung tissue, literally the only target of the vaccines) but the pathology is not new.
Sinovac is a more traditional vaccine and causes way worse ADE (due to antibodies dropping lower than the LNP/vector vaccines), the western vaccines cause retardation and first world inflammatory disorders due to infecting bone marrow/brain tissue/organs.

Vaccine induced thrombocytopenic thrombosis was typically seen in the Astra-Zeneca vaccine. Still rare, with rates estimated between 1 in 50,000 to 1 in 200,000. They needed up having clots in unusual areas - such as the cerebral venous sinuses.

I assume you tested positive for ANA and anti-histone antibodies, which suggests a drug induced lupus (rare, but can occur with a variety of different medicines).

Haematological issues post mRNA vaccines were less common. Although, I work as a doctor and had a patient present with bone marrow failure post-vaccine, eventually dying from neutropenic sepsis.

The proteinuria is likely the result of kidney involvement of the lupus (lupus nephritis).

No doctor in this thread will be able to tell you with absolute certainty. But if you did test positive for antibodies suggestive of drug induced lupus, and the vaccine was the only novel medicine you had administered at the time, then it's likely that the vaccine was the cause.

Influenza means at the will of the stars because there was no pattern to its occurrence, it came and went at seemingly random until that is the late 1800s when the pattern changed to an annual cycle with the so called russian flu pandemic.
