Redpill me /sci/.
Is there yes or no an anti-science movement (propaganda) that have been slowly progressing since a a few years?
It sure as hell feel like so.

And I'm not talking about mRNA vaccine concers, fuck those "vaccines", it's fucking insulting for the real vaccines that have been made for decades, but that's not the point of my post.
I'm talking about Evolution receiving more and more criticism, or so it seems on the internet, by brainlets or more likely propaganda and demoralizing agents out there.

you're just seeing the beginning of a new paradigm. consider that the methods, philosophies, and institutions you hold as credible might be wrong in ways you're blind to.

people witnessing this paradigm shift are rightfully skeptical of the whole scientific project as the basis of all knowledge, given how this base of knowledge can shift radically in a generation.

science worshippers claim to want to find truth, but stubbornly cling to the views they already subscribe to in most cases. as much as you might hate it, religion is inescapable in us. faith is the only foundation that can last millennia, and the only reasonable basis for our pursuit of knowledge. it has to start with values or you become a slave to the process of seeking itself (luciferian technocracy)

Science not of the heart, says the old clock-maker from the back of the homestead; but it is of that nature, understood only in the bygone reefs which hath quenched my unknown suffering. It said that the one and being of this is not to be apart from our concept of the thing, but to take part in it. And it said that is the at never been too many to take away a greater misunderstanding than this which has given it support in the first place. Long story made of much greater brevity, I concur. There are far too many that said it already, but to make the matter worse, there have never been in the first place those who actually began to laugh. And so it is said that the one who claims all has gathered all, but the one who has stood by as his fame and fortune digressed as made all the same. And so yes, I disagree with your representation of the thing-in-itself: it is certain, you foul cretin or air and distain, that I stained my pants, and with paints, incredulously, I untainted my pain, and strained my taint.

Eh. Dunno about shitty countries but in Scandinavia it doesn't seem like it. I think the main reason for your impression is that contrarians and retards are more entertaining and thus make the news and algorithms in disproportionate numbers. From my point of view working in the field of enzymology it seems like science is chugging on pretty placidly.
One thing that might also contribute is that science these days are very much collaborative and specialized efforts. Back in ye olde timely days a scientist must've appeared like the holder of all truths. It didn't take much for the rare individuals who had both extraordinary natural mental gifts and extensive schooling to seem like they knew more than a layman about every subject imaginable. From anatomy, biology and geology to history, engineering, politics and philosophy. To a working class man they might hold a status not unlike sage's and oracle's of antiquity.
These days though. If you want to pursue a top spot on the list of scientific pioneers it's all about depth. There is not enough hours in a day to strive for breaking new ground and also have breadth in multiple fields. Some researchers I work or collaborate with are what you would call intellectually gifted, I would guess above 140 IQ and not lower than 125 if you're the kind who consider that IQ good metrIc. More importantly, they also seek new knowledge and toil conscientiously and persistently more than 70 hours weekly. More than 115 a week if you count the time they spend in their home office's and time spent on conferences and intercorporate collaboration trips. A few have studied biotech fundementals to a master's degree for 5 years, then spent 1-3 years interning or assisting research pro bono for established organizations. After that spending 2, and in one case 4.5 years on their Ph.D. They then spent between 11 and 21 in academia except 1 guy who worked non tenured at the Max Planck institute for 12 years

Cont->....

All of them have been in Novozymes in excess of 8 years and during that time they have had part in working on projects that I could personally see being game-changing for humanity's future in the next century, or at least be a part of the solution. They spent on average more than 35 years of their life deepening their knowledge and are now what can reasonably be considered leading experts in their fields. Fields that are very very narrow and very very specific to for example enzymatic vat composition optimization for biofuel synthesis from complex polysaccharides. He don't know ohms law. He once thought humans had 2 livers untill I informed him otherwise. The only culture he gets is listening to classic rock. Anyone talking to him for more than 30 minutes in an informal setting would peg him as a bit weird and not particularly perceptive.

Scientists these days aren't paragons of human cognition anymore. They're nerds.
But that being said we still get the jobs done and make new strides in the majority of fields. And these discoveries, at least in my field are not just of academic interest. I'm quite proud of the napkin math results. Even low balling the figures and dividing the result by the number of coworkers in my department I'm personally responsible for facilitating an additional 67k QALY distributed around the globe. That's about 800 human lives. Sometimes I hate the stupidly pointless academic bureaucratic system and the wastefulness and pointlessness of cultivating professional rekations. Two times I have experienced a discovery with potential avenues of research that could benefit millions of people in the poorest countries in the world. Management deemed both cases to be low priority due to projections on profitability indicating that it would be more than 13 years in one case and 25+ years in the other before the technology would be a net profit. Those projects were mothballed 6 and 32 years ago. They still are.

Here's the reality. Those people are being kept alive far longer than they should be. They live in chronic pain for their miserable later years while being obese pigs who have no self control. Those are the people at risk of being killed by something as meager as whooping cough. You do know why young people need a TDAP booster right? It's not to protect themselves. It's to protect people so weak that they would literally die if they were given a fucking vaccine. Those are the weaklings you're trying to protect. They'll pull every single connection thread their arthritic hands can muster and pull out every single investment, tradeable asset and cash savings they own. To dumb it down: The boomers are by virtue of simple generational headstart the individuals who own your country. If you fuck over the boomers they will (even in uncoordinated selfishly motivated reactions) detonate the economy and subsequently societal stability so hard and so thoroughly that all the "healthy young people" will face a national AVG life expectancy that predicts them kicking the bucket before the aged boomers.

You're proposing to attempt to fuck over the demographic that literally owns your country. I'm not commenting on the morals of this state of affairs but that's reality.

Basic shit like not washing your hands after contact with pathogens. Not sanitizing instruments for routine cosmetic or surgical procedures. Not isolating a fungal infection of the footsole with a plastic sheath in public baths. Going to job/school while diseased and contagious due to mild symptoms or stuborness.

The latter i don't mind so much though. We're all gonna get the seasonal flu at some point. Better to keep viral strains in continuous circulation than risk a strain diverging too much during an improbably long isolation period in some remote viral reservoir or closed contagion vektor loop. That's how we got the Spanish flu.

I don't understand germ theory deniers though. Vaxx yards I can kinda understand if I assume they're misinformed scared morons, but germ theory? Theres literally elementary school science class tier experiments that will prove germ theory is real. Macroscopic visual results on dish mediums. Simple and hard-to-fuck up experiment procedures. Takes very little time and a few dollars worth of equipment.

If you want to confirm or research transmission of pathogens on your own in Vivo experiments are necessary. Luckily you won't need to resort to animal experiments. You can use root vegetables to confirm transmission of mold transmission. If you feel up to it you can use insects to illustrate bacterial transmission. Just capture a few live flies, have them crawl around inside a Petri dish with a culture, then transfer them to a sterile growth plate and let them walk around for a few minutes and then let the growth medium cultivate a day or two.

These experiments, at the very least, would show you personally that germ theory is a good hypothesis. If you're serious in your critical approach, you can explore further experiments that require slightly more time and effort?
How's that sound? Could be worth the time to perform if you're truly skeptical right?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone question the transmissabiliy of fungi or bacteria, the issue arises over whether they are the sole cause of disease and the controversy over "viruses", their modes of action, isolation, sequencing, how they could have evolved, and the efficacy of vaccines against them.
I don't think many of these can be researched with a modest home lab.

Combination of factors. With the majority of the general populace hiding indoors and playing Karen the soccer mum on Facebook and Reddit all day, people detach from the real world and from reality. From there they realise that they are able to believe anything they want and devolve into delusion and fantasy which Foster's their own narcissistic self importance.

The issues within the scientific community have been highlighted already.

Then there is external influence on the scientific community to push certain agendas, for better or worse.

Covid, as an example, is a PR propoganda circus. Here's why;
Unless threatened with a horrible death most people would refuse to allow themselves to be experimented on.

I had covid numerous times and got two Vax shots. I strongly suspect that the second shot was out of date which resulted in persistent chest pain which comes and goes. The Vax was worse for me than COVID. Would I have had a similar reaction if that second shot had been fresher who knows. Are these deaths the results of greed, incompetence or intent who knows.

But we are being experimented on and it is easy to see what the purpose behind that is from my perspective.

Independent shill represent. Trying to get you nerds interested in protein folded because it's the future of medicine and biotech.

I want to travel the stars and this means I need an extended lifespan. I'm just a dreamer man.

If you'd rather drown in your pseud spiracies I can't stop you. I'm not here for the stupid. I'm here to offer reasonable alternatives to being some frothing internet troll who spams meaningless infographics all day which make no sense and make you look like schizos.

We all make choices man. Just because I know way more than you doesn't automatically make me a glowie. They aren't the only ones who know some stuff.

We are probably going to be seeing quite a bit of each other around here.

Growing up I didn’t know anyone that legitimately believed in a flat earth, and maybe I’m remembering wrong but I swear it became a troll meme 10-15 years ago. I meet so many people now who legitimately believe in that now.
