You got something everyone wants and needs, but have a finite supply of it (fossil fuels) then you want to get as much money for each unit as possible rather than sell it cheap and fast and run out.

There are exactly five global warming threats to the USA. Other people have more danger exposure but the USA is kinda lucky geographically.

Solution: Don't live near the coast, which also helps protect you from DHS.
>2: Hurricanes are bigger
Solution: Don't live on the gulf or atlantic coast.

Solution: Live in a house built for high temperatures.

Solution: Don't live in the southwest.

Solution: Live near farmland

After looking at these criteria, the Appalachian part of GA/SC/NC is pretty much ideal. Find a place within 10 miles of farmland and you're set. Did you know that Greenville and Atlanta are in the top 5 fastest growing metros this year for exactly this reason?
If you were in India, however, the nearest safe area would be over 2,000 miles away.
