What does the socratic method achieve other than revealing you know nothing? Besides ending the conversation with contradiction and showing that you are fucking wrong, what else does the method do to allow us to get more understanding of a topic? You can't just question people to death and provide no solutions.

That's where you are wrong, kiddo.

The Socratic method is basically the whole concept of proof by contradiction.

you missed the whole point, it also reveals that everyone else is as stupid as you are. knowing that allows you to easily spot where they're lying and from that you can deduce their true motives and use that knowledge to your advantage.

Kek I know you can't backup your statement you fucking midwit. You probably read lots of self-motivation articles too.

I looked up the scrotees method to see what it was even though I already knew and when I saw what it meant it confirmed how good I am. Like I already knew how good I am but this kinda just double confirmed it. It's about talking. One person talks. Then the other person talks. And this process repeats. It helps you do shit and makes you humble but I'm already better at being humble than most other people so I don't really bother with talking. I noticed it said this too but maybe it doesn't mean anything
>Socrates rarely used the method to actually develop consistent theories, instead using myth to explain them

>Socrates: Do you enjoy watching porn?
>Strawmenos: Sure, I jerk off a lot to good porn.
>Socrates: So you enjoy seeing another man having sex with a woman?
>Strawmenos: Uhm, yes, you could say so.
>Socrates: And satisfying your wife is a good thing, right?
>Strawmenos: It certainly is.
>Socrates: If two things are good then combining them yields another good thing, doesn't it?
>Strawmenos: Definitely it does.
>Socrates: Let's summarize. You like watching another man having sex and you like your wife getting satisfied. Therefore, cuckolding is good and desirable for you.
>Strawmenos: Logically flawless. Thank you based Socrates. Can you please fuck my wife?

last night I accidentally had sex with another man while watching my wife have sex with another man who was related to my wife's husband. There was just too many people and I got confused. Luckily I sorted out the problem afterwards using the Socratic method

You can apply the Socratic method to both a proposition and its negation, so it's definitely not proof by contradiction.

It forces the party holding the belief to reflect on the implicit assumptions that underly that belief.
