this guy does a course using basic mathematics by lang maybe watch a few vids of his before you decide if lang is your level. You might want to try something simpler first.

Go to aops and start doing AMC 10/12 problems. Learn how to problem solve. Then you can worry about incorporating modern notation and advanced techniques

You don't understand, I'm a failure that went drinking after school almost everyday for 3 years and went to school hangover next day. I did very poor choices during my teenage years that haunt me till this day. I went to absolute shittiest school because I hang out with losers and I didn't change schools because thosr were my only friends. I absolutely suck ass at every possible subject, I'm at middle school level and don't even know when ww2 started and ended. I passed HS with over the average grades, only because my mom forced me to learn 1 month before the exams (pretty good for a month is you ask me). I want to improve myself but every time I come just get overwhelmed and ashemed of myself. I do not know where to begin, when I go to 'basic courses' or lectures I see expressions I'm unfamiliar with and just give up. Last time I got recommended a lecture/course it was a 15 yo pajeet explaining concepts and maths + he talked about his million dollar ML/AI company which made me feel like an absolute lowest barrel loser

I don't want to die as an illiterate uneducated retard that lacks confidence in his judgment because of the basic knowledge I lack. I get suicidal every time I think about it. I don't want to live this way anymore, I want to improve and need guidence.

Sorry, wanted to get this out of my chest.

Thats literally every day for me and I have a PhD in Mathematics. Its a big field and I read things "Im unfamiliar with" every day On Purpose. I TRY to read unfamiliar stuff, not shit I already know...thats a waste of time.

A lot of people start learning (mathematics, but anything that's not easy, really) and give up very very quickly. I hope you will not. You passed high school so why don't you look up any undergrad curriculum and start at semester 1? Just pirate the books and read+make exercises, google for lecture videos with your book if you need them.
If that's too advanced google "what to learn before book x", repeat until you can start.

this is the way i took when I started self-studying in HS:

> calculus by spivak
> learnt linear algebra by doing quantum mechanics
> topology by bert mendelson
> abstract algebra by fraleigh
> multivariable calculus by wendel fleming
> visual complex analysis by needham (i also need ham)
> algebraic topology by hatcher

As you can see theres no particular order from linear algebra, thats because I think to enjoy math you can just read whatever you want without a specific order (you must satisfy the prerequisites for each book obviously). There's not a predetermined way, once you finish doing point-set topology there are a lot of subject you can choose from. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
