The problem is that we're not sea birds. We can't simply travel inland and settle, you're talking about the loss of millions of homes around the world. Who's going to buy a house that's flooded? Who's going to pay for new houses inland? Not to mention people who's lives depend on water runoff from glacial meltwater which they won't have anymore as the glaciers disappear. These people will show up in your backyard because you made their lands unlivable.

This doesn't even begin to address the problems of food production. "lol, let's just plant crops closer to the poles!" This fails on several levels. Not all soil is the same. You are asking farmers to move from fertile lands with high production to lower quality soils that won't grow as much. Based on our estimates in the next 50 years we will no longer be able to feed everyone. This will affect you or your children directly.

Also an increase in atmospheric CO2 shows that plants make more sugars and less vitamins which makes all foods less healthy. While you may eat the same quantity of food as you did before you aren't getting the same quality of nutrition. This is already affecting us and has been proven multiple times as already occurring.

All to make a few billionaires more wealthy by tricking you to buy more coal and oil.

1. We were already in a "warm age" for 10,000 years. Current warming is on top of the warming that already occurred.

This can't be determined with the data we have available. The current warming peak looks exactly like the one from before the last ice age, with the exception of a very short-duration spike which can't be captured on historical climate proxies. For all we know this is a natural process that kickstarts the decline into the next ice age, but it happens too quickly to be caught on the "record" in climate proxies.

Sure it can. Pic related.

>The current warming peak looks exactly like the one from before the last ice age
You mean the last glacial period? No it doesn't. Interglacial warming ended 10,000 years ago. That's the peak that looks similar. The current peak isn't similar in timing or in magnitude. It's the exact opposite of the interglacial-glacial cycle.

>with the exception of a very short-duration spike which can't be captured on historical climate proxies.
Why would we need proxies to capture it when we can measure it directly?

>For all we know this is a natural process that kickstarts the decline into the next ice age
You're confusing your lack of knowledge with what climatologists know. We know what causes interglacials and their timing (Milankovich cycles). We know what causes current warming: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2020GL091585

They are not the same.

>but it happens too quickly to be caught on the "record" in climate proxies.
No, the ice core record has very good resolution. Ice cores can't tell us about recent temperature changes because it takes a long time for the ice to form, not because the changes are too fast.

The very first argument he makes is wrong. He says that it's one of the coolest periods in Earth's history so it can't be getting too hot. He fails to mention that humans evolved in and have always lived in this cold period called an ice age, so of course deviating from that temperature range can be incredibly harmful to us. Humans history is a negligible part of Earth's history, so why should we care about the what the climate was like for the majority of Earth's history? We're humans, not rocks. Senate testimony about the climate scientists responsible for the fraud:
archive (dot) ph/mfoR5

>I had another interesting experience around the time my paper in Science was published. I received an astonishing email from a major researcher in the area of climate change. He said, "We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period."

>The Medieval Warm Period (MWP) was a time of unusually warm weather that began around 1000 AD and persisted until a cold period known as the "Little Ice Age" took hold in the 14th century. Warmer climate brought a remarkable flowering of prosperity, knowledge, and art to Europe during the High Middle Ages.

>The existence of the MWP had been recognized in the scientific literature for decades. But now it was a major embarrassment to those maintaining that the 20th century warming was truly anomalous. It had to be "gotten rid of."

The person he discusses is assumed to be Jonathan Overpeck, who famously said that he wanted to "deal a mortal blow" to the MWP in the Climategate emails. He was one of the most strident proponents of fabricating the data to make it appear as if past warming events didn't exist, because he wanted to prevent "The sceptics and uninformed" from citing valid research that contradicted their claims. He instructed his fellows "No need to go into details on any but the MWP, but good to mention the others in the same dismissive effort."

From the email dated Thu, 13 Jan 2005 21:45:38

To settle your concerns, here's some scientific proof that the MWP was global, and warmer than today, using oceanic climate proxies:

Why are you lying? The actual quote is “I'm not the only one who would like to deal a mortal blow to the misuse of supposed warm period terms and myths in the literature.” The MWP was not a period of global warming. It was a period of warming primarily in the North Atlantic region. The global average temperature actually decreased globally during it. So you're mad that a scientist didn't want it to be misrepresented?

>He was one of the most strident proponents of fabricating the data

>The problem is that we're not sea birds. We can't simply travel inland and settle, you're talking about the loss of millions of homes around the world
Already happened. They're all dead now.
>Who's going to pay for new houses inland?
>Not to mention people who's lives depend on water runoff from glacial meltwater which they won't have anymore as the glaciers disappear.
No one. Besides, they're not going to make it inland. They'll make it until their gas tanks are empty after many of them are idling in traffic jams. Then they'll leave their cars and make it maybe 25-30 km at most destroying the countryside around them before succumbing to hunger and thirst. The most effictive thing is actually to create blockades to limit the damage these people will do.
>These people will show up in your backyard because you made their lands unlivable.
The problem with that rhetoric is that they won't make it there.
>you made their lands unlivable.
Lol. This is even worse. In developed countries, the majority of people, hence the majority of electricity, gas, etc. users tend to live in coastal cities. Given the popularly believed hypothesis on climate change they caused their own destruction. It does you no good to start to blame other people. And no, we are not in this together. We never were. Now fuck off.
