Dump guides, pdf, anything you have that would help with a self-sufficient/post-apocalyptic life

what's sad, cause I was here when /sci/ was created, and the stuff that op is asking for was posted SO OFTEN that it was basically an unofficial general thread. Hundreds of infographics and guides for exactly what OP wants. It didn't occur to me to save any of that stuff at the time. But all those people are gone now, and yet I'm still here....

False false false. While I do agree we have a problem of quality thanks to /pol/ leaking and making daily IQ threads we do have the occasional good info thread, like news of some kind.

you can find a bunch of books to help you out on z-lib.org. just search for "prepper" or "bushcraft" and follow the recommendations.

bad news for /sci/entists here though: shockingly, pretty much all survival guides recommend being in good physical condition and not being a fat lazy sperg who sits in front of the computer all day eating cheetos. go figure

Just turned the entire northern hemisphere into a garden for you buddy.

Also been saving up hotel soaps since a kid. Fools dont realize the value of a clean body after a fortnights journey though mud, let alone its chemistry potential in things like nitroglycerin, they just give it out for free.

also hemp, though not the type you may be thinking.

https://parkdalebrass.com/blogs/news/the-ancient-history-of-hemp

stuff wasn't niche but a staple for basically all of even the sparsely recorded histories

also, george washington made a good fishing net with it, be useful to teach fishing lessons :)

in his diary he has notes of just finding places near marshes and planting some for later
tactical hemp bushes haha.

>post-apocalyptic life
Best thing is to identify the most likely nearby target for a nuclear strike (such as a military base or silo), and try to be there, as close to the epicenter as you can get, before it happens.
That way it's instant, no paint.

Amazing. Thanks for making me aware of this.
>traces old technology to the present
My greatest fear that technology advances at a pace where we start losing (older) technology. I believe if technologically evolves too quickly, we may find ourselves in an "evolutionary dead end" with no memory of the way backwards.

This has already happened with some early computer models that were cannibalized for parts to create newer versions and had little to no documentation. Not a big deal, until you realize those early models of computers may have employed novel solutions to problems that we didn't keep, and are now lost.
