How do genetics inform inheritable intelligence?

Basically, my wife is rather dull. Zero intellectual curiosity, barely made it through senior high and college despite trying really hard, etc etc. She's endearing in other ways that have much more to do with a good upbringing and general fitness. I worry, though, that our kids will be retarded too. Is this is worthwhile concern, or does intelligence have more to do with environment?

Some of it is genetics, most of it it's environmental. A gifted kid most often than not, ends up in a worse place than an average kid that got a good education. Most of what makes a kid intelligent, is how much the brain is engaged during the formative years, that's when the brain learns how to learn, yeah, the brain learns how to experiment and develop skils, and that's where parents make all the difference, i mean, either they spend time with the kids or they pay someone to do it for them, negleted kids are the ones that end up retarded...
