Was it some kind of exercise physiology course? What was supposed to be the parameters of the research project? I mean, for exercise physiology it might be useful to research some level of psychology/sociology to understand patient adherence to specific treatment plans.

If they do a gender comparison study, they're going to be fucked because true data will show biological differences between sex and that gender is worthless feel-good terminology. Bring up the risk of getting canceled, but do it in a passive way that makes it look like legitimate concern.
