What are your thoughts about this channel? Does he sometimes bend the scientific truth to fetch more views and create unnecessary controversies?

many worlds is not the correct interpretation of quantum mechanics

My physics professor has played a few of his videos and said he went to the same university as Derek. Seems like an alright guy.

Lowest tier of pop-sci youtube educators.
Legitimately feels he has no idea what he's talking about most of the time, and he's doubling down on trying to make you think you understood "everything wrong" about banal topics.
When people call him on his shit he claims he did it on purpose just to make the discussion happen.

It's obvious to anyone actually working with science that he is a hack. But every now and then he makes a fun video. Still shit compared to just about any other channel like this I could think of.

He's good, he's educated in both physics and teaching so on paper he knows what he's doing.
But he has the classic physicist syndrome of sometimes talking about things he does not know about / understand, this isn't just an issue with him tho, it's just an issue with physicists in general, they often tend to be overconfident about their knowledge on topics that are not purely physics.

His videos are quite entertaining, because that's what it is. An entertainment channel.

Sometimes he twists semantics in order to try to blow your mind, which isn't that mind blowing when you think about it, but his videos are interesting

His take on the light-year long power line experiment was, to put it lightly, controversial to actual electrical engineers. Since electricity is also a topic I grasp, I found his perspective to be, say, misinformed.

I try and avoid pop science, though. Not to demerit the work of divulgators, but you most likely won't be right about everything all the time.

I heard that he likes carrots. Dunno what that's all about.

Intriguing. Could you name a few good science channels? Especially about mathematics and economics.
