The reason why scientists are failing society as of now is because they were raised to pursue credit and achievement rather than pursuing knowledge. They dont really care about making society healthier and their only motivation is to feel accomplished that the rest of the world values them as smart. You see all these people trying to be prestigious when pursuing careers rather than publishing work that obsoletes the previous work. It is more of a popularity contest now than anything and they should be eugenicized. It is mostly the asians and jews that are like this.

Science is failing because many are pursuing the field who 100 years ago would be working in fields. They study the textbooks, they memorize the theories, but they don't really comprehend them or have a larger frame of reference. This is why you see scientists falling for meme studies. They themselves while they work in the industry, are not actually that intelligent.

Tying economic mobility with education was a mistake.
Gamifying education into a sequence of exams/contests/olympiads becomes the goal and this gamification starves resources from real natural talents.

It's society that's failing science.
Everyone of modern society only cares about money, short-term rewards and popularity. Those things are near the antithesis of science.

Scientists are failing society because midwits like you are still falling for a failed 20th century ideology that says society should be science-driven. As soon as this inane idea becomes popular there is no longer any real science as such. It's all politics.

I never said that the pursuit of money is what im against. Im against the pursuit of "clout chasing" rather than investigating. There are many coping mechanisms in psychology that are developed at a young age but achievement is the most retarded and every post that was previously here supporting my claims were deleted by the jannies due to being anti semetic. Your mother did not raise you right, she taught you to ace the tests but not be a well rounded individual for society and thus you are useless and you can keep denying it but we all know

all asian countries and cultures were defined by psychologists as "defined by their desire to be significant and to distinguish themselves through their achievements." This is no less respectable to a child seeking attention in an adult form and is pathetic how we consider them functioning

There's a lot of red tape in discovery and research, and it's probably to help keep anyone that doesn't want to suckle the political agenda of academia and its funding sources away. We still have independent discovery though, but you're not going to get dickall published for discovering anything that helps people. If anything, you'll probably just be heavily fined.

The creation of the academic publishing market was the death of science. Public or perish does all sorts of damage. New scientists graduate with the belief baked into them that doing science, learning about the world, and applying reason themselves is potentially bad, and trusting utterly in peer-reviewed authority is the ultimate good.

Suppose that lack of funds for postgraduate education had led the chemist to become an insurance broker instead of a chemist. In that case he would have been very interested in insurance matters but would have cared nothing about isopropyltrimethylmethane. In any case it is not normal to put into the satisfaction of mere curiosity the amount of time and effort that scientists put into their work. The “curiosity” explanation for the scientists’ motive just doesn’t stand up.

go getters and achievement retards are the problem. We want people who found science interesting from a young age and didnt just adopt science to look smart around their peers. This is why society is failing.

anxiety driven culture, high suicide rates, no actual success beyond the margin of 100k. It is clear its a bad example for the youth to go off of this. Nonetheless they get good at the current work by studying it for hours but never improve upon it and change 2 factors of a study and republish it to take credit. They arent actually helpful to science ever.

Very true op.

I noticed that scientists these days, it's all about the credit, it's all about making it look like they're the heroes who saved the day, they crave recognition so badly.

They all want to be the next Nobel prize winner and told "wow you saved humanity, you're like nikola tesla, you're basically marie curie, but better!"

A big reason why covid got pushed so hard was because the scientists who invented MRNA wanted to be recognised and congratulated for what they did.

"You WILL take the Vaccine, it WILL save your life, and you WILL thank us and give us a Nobel prize after, and you WILL congratulate us and thank us for all our hard work and research! Remember, WE saved YOU!!!"

unfortunately most of scientists today are incompetent midwits.
i myself have not acquired an academic education but i know many who do, cheating is an essential part of the culture in those institutions since the study loads are irrational.
ask anyone you know and trust to be honest with you about this and they will give the same answer, and the worst thing is that the management is aware and also encourage it.
a student is required to write dozens of papers, he uses people to write some of them because it is impossible, he argues with the professor about the grade without any technical aspect just by persuasion,
then they become scientists, your doctors etc... this is a joke
