Whenever anything is refuted, flerfs immediately jump to something else like they didn’t hear what was just said.

That's the most common tactic among these types of people.

They have a surface understanding or theory about most of their ideas, but if you push them on any of it, they will quickly move on to another subject.
"But what about this?"
"Okay, but how do you explain this?"
and so on, then when they manage to corner you with something so dumbfounding or contrived that you dont have information for it on hand, they think in their head that it retroactively validates all their other claims that was previously debunked and claim victory. They also claim that any study on anything cannot be taken as evidence because it's done by muh ebil science authority people

In other words, they just infodump on you and claim victory when you get fed up when you realise you're trying to teach them 4 years worth of science class curriculum in a matter of a couple of hours.
