Plate and belt tricks are useless and have nothing to do with the su(2) or so(3) groups despite the insinuations. Theres never been any actual logical link, its just "double rotation so look at the belt its proof".
Would be handy to have a map between the alleged math structure and the "trick stages" if such a thing is possible.
