Due to the state of the world, it is felt that the JWST will provide us with evidence of significant alien life on one or more planets. It would add chaos to the already chaotic, and that is significant, it is overdue for a dramatic addition to the current status quo.

Now is the time to be alive. I cannot wait for the coming strife caused by alien life.

Realistically, the best the JWST can do is identify possible atmospheric conditions which increase the probability of life (e.g. increasing oxygen levels, as in our Carboniferous Period; or pollution, as in the Anthropocene - now).

People who think there is probably life on other planets and people who don't are unlikely to be persuaded either way by JWST results.

I hope the massively polluted planets orbit stars surrounding by energy harvesters!

What kind of person would you have to be to be surprised or shocked that aliens exist?

The only acceptable shock would be by the naive, and only due to the possible vagueness of the public announcement and tabloids sensationalizing to imply that aliens are close to here and want to destroy earth

Don't ever expect the "truth" from governments.
