Hey im 26 and just started on algebra. Sucks growing up in a poor blue collar family but im going to make it, im going to escape this life.

Unless you're in a third world country I don't see how this is possible

>> No.14624978

Same. I still have no idea how divisors in algebraic geometry work.

Yep I know how you feel..

>terrible grades in high school, never took school seriously
>decide not to go to college
>realize I fucked up
>decide to go back to school
>dropped all the way down to intermediate algebra, struggling...
>must take 4 math courses before eligible for the first of 6 required math courses for my degree
>5 math courses later
>just finished my first math requirement (calculus 1)

You can do it anon

Every two days or so, I reread the notes (theory pages they have) and did the final set of questions at the end.
When you get to HS stuff, get a good text book and do the questions in that as well.

That's encouraging to hear. Glad you're making significant progress. I'm in a similar boat where I didn't take school seriously and decided not to go to college. But then I realized how important math can be especially when it comes to understanding the world and having a well-paying job.
Any recommendations on what to read/study?

You mean, like, you can't do it? You don't get it?
Or you can't do long division or something?

Why?

It really depends on whatever you're interested in learning and what skills you want practice with. What are you interested in studying?

If you can take courses at a community college, it will likely help you improve at a faster rate. I personally find it difficult to make progress self studying new math.

I can relate to that, but in my case it's because I'm taking number theory classes
