I don't think the highest levels of intellectual labor will be automated for some time. AI isn't capable of imagining, understand, or caring about the consequences of getting things wrong yet. It really only gets applied in the very narrow range of tasks that are both unimportant/inconsequential and difficult for traditional algorithm-based methods to accomplish, like generating art or finding people in images.

I think it is going to happen and it will be good. So many people cling to their little petty roles, prestige’s and trophies in various forms that they shudder and shit themselves out of fear when they think that they are going to be replaced in due time. The reality is, it doesn’t have to be this way. If we were but a little bit creative and benevolent, this technology can bring great fortune for everyone. However, I understand the caution one has to take regarding the people who control the development of this technology.
