Australian here.

I'm studying a Bachelor of Paramedic Science 3 year undergraduate degree and after doing a few hundred hours of placements I realise I don't think I'm going to be able to get a job unless I move countries.

I'm planning to take the GAMSAT in my last year of study and see if I can get into Medicine but I don't know any Doctors or how hard it is to even get into Medicine. All I know is that you have to score really well on the GAMSAT, maintain a really high GPA and then present really well for the interviews and then cross your fingers and hope to get a place when there are people from around the country and around the world all competing for the same positions.

Are there any Doctors or med students from Australia here?

GAMSAT is somewhat g-loaded so you need a base level of IQ to do really well (>95th percentile) in it but since you can't change your IQ much it's best not to worry about it. GAMSAT also tests how much of a dumb retard you have been throughout your life. If you never read anything or studied anything during school and played video games and jacked off to porn for the majority of your life then chances are you did not develop essential skills like paying attention to and reading what a text is saying (section 1 and 3), or thinking about topics critically (section 2). You will do poorly compared to people who had good parents that made them study and read.

The good news is that the latter element can be trained, and if you spend the next year reading a lot of material, studying things from various fields, and thinking about what you're reading, you will be able to develop that skill.
