Even though you're phrasing this in an obvious exaggerated way, you do raise an important point. Science has been 'used' since the very beginning to exert an advantage over matter, and people. It won wars and changed entire landscapes. But even though it had an undeniable effect on 'literally everything', it remains an evidence based way of thinking. It isn't a 'thing' or 'person' which you could accuse of being good or evil. We continue to value it as it has helped us very well in the past, and will continue to do so for lack of a better alternative.

The real problem is the god-like power humans wield thanks to it, which is wasted on medieval brain software that only thinks about extreme short-term profits, so if you wish to blame someone for our troubles, blame the systems we manufactured that only make us less happy and wanting more.
