In a way, it was as though more of the internet was like /sci/. More people interested in discussing science perhaps, but the schizos were always here from the very beginning.

Anyway, you're wrong about the timeline. Myspace wasn't really when the decline began, or even accelerated. America Online brought the BIG normalfag retard inundation, and it never really ended.
