It’s actually kinda crazy how easy it is to get a job in tech/finance if you’re not asian/white and at least average in terms of intelligence. I was able to land quantitative trading internships with relative ease despite only having an iq of 120.

Stochastic calculus is very important if trying to become a sell-side quant, but not nearly as useful for buy-side quants. ML skills are definitely essential for buy-side.

If you’re trying to become a quantitative trader, you should be comfortable with basic stats/probability/game theory/programming and mental math. I can post specific resources, just ask.

I dont know why people get so worked up over this bait. One glance and you can see it was created by some $30/hr diversity hire mid 30's woman sporting a $400 hairstyle. Those types will spend the better part of two years creating these sorts of high school tier charts to justify their pay, but more importantly to butter their CV for their next slick career move.

Its a language they learn in order to make the most mundane and obvious sound like the work of a professional. It helps mask their mediocrity.

At the end of the day it makes no difference. The real world only cares about what you can do and how much money you can make for others. Fail that and it makes no difference how flowery your rainbow colored chart looks. Most of science is now a function of some capitalist pursuit, where only results matter. Businesses involved in any research will simply find a way to filter out the chaff.

NTA but I personally was affected. In my PhD program (STEM) women were favored over me (white male). I was treated like shit during my defense while women who gave worse defenses weren't grilled half as hard as I was (same committee members). I failed to qualify for scholarships that my female peers qualified for despite their grades being worse than mine. They got accepted to post docs whereas I didn't.

Also, while I may not have come across OPs image specifically I've come across this stuff independently. I sometimes share my findings (like how the GGI is mathematically unfounded and how the WEF, FBI and other organizations are riddled with sexist definitions promulgated by feminists who ultimately cause these gendered scholarships to exist).
