I've been here longer and he's not entirely wrong. /sci/ got really bad around 2016.
This is when /pol/ decided to invade. Tho, in reality it was more likely bots and paid actors.

2016 is when information warfare took a turn for the worse. In an attempt to alter the outcome of American elections for some over archer geopolitical strategy of weakening world powers so the world can be destabilized and more vulnerable to invasions and occupations by predatory nations. Once one country started this practice, it escalated, and escalated, and escalated.
Now I'd say more than 50% of the posts aren't even regular 4chan users. They are paid actors, dumb AI bots, or more recently "smart" AI bots.

Network addresses are a base 8 system, I never said it was base numbering system because anyone who isnt a mouth breathing retarded knows computers can only use binary, a bit is either on or off. However there are 8 bits in a byte, which EIGHT slots to hold an exponential binary value therefore the highest value a BASE 8 byte can have it 255 (though it is actually 256 values because comp sci always starts with 0 not 1).

Now I know you are proably too stupid to understand any of this but this post isnt for you it is for people who were actually able to memorize their multiplication tables in grade school because they didnt sit around all day pissing and shitting themselves like you.

btw I will add little more to this. This is why so many things like color gradients for one, but many others, have the highest value limit = 255. Because that is base 8 system. Computers are both base 2 and base 8. In the real world you can use as many exponential or just values in general that you want, but computers cannot, they are limited by their hardware and the hardware design limits you to only being able use 8 binary exponential values, therefore it is base 2 within a base 8 system. Even small children should be able to process this, it isnt that hard I promise
