Very little. Most places are just blank slates, yet there is also no breathable atmosphere. It would likely grow out of tiny self-contained areas, something like large city blocks, but more self-sufficient. It also depends quite heavily on precisely what habitation is like. The first habitats constructed for the purpose of building a city rather than building a base would almost certainly be quite different as well. One thing we can say with certainty is that it'll be built around pedestrian activity.

No, they aren't. City planners come up with plans for the city, then submit them to the people higher in the government who actually have control over what does and doesn't happen. Those people then have to weigh all of the impacts those plans would have. This also includes considering whether certain groups would or wouldn't like the proposed plans. If the plans are considered too risky then they're abandoned and the city planners have to draw up new plans in line with the new guidelines.

Earther astronauts will have much bigger problems to worry about.

Besides, consider that all those craters are every impact over billions of years - the frequency even of tiny, untracked ones hitting the surface is really low.

Hear me out, its just a conjecture since I dont know the actual answer but this is what I think

The moon rotates on its axis. So if a comet were to hit, it would have to be spread across the entire moon's surface statistically speaking. But wait, why the south pole has more impacts? The south pole is at the lowest end of the axis, so the amount of surface area coverage relative to the spin is much lower than the spin on the equatorial axis which covers the entire equator.

Think of it like this. Imagine you spraying a paint at a earth globe while it spin at a certain pressure. If you spray it at the equator, the paint would be distributed across the whole equatorial surface area in 360 degree. This means there would be a light coverage of paint.
Now try doing the same spray paint at the south pole axis on the globe. Because the spin on the south poles have a much smaller surface area, the paint density would be much thicker per cm2.

>> No.14508583

>>14508553
does it work for dust from impacts? say an asteroid impacts somewhere outside of the south pole but kicks up dust that covers the moon. the dust at the south pole would be thicker than at the equator?

Speaking of books made by Robert Zubrin, take a look at this one
>"Merchants of Despair: Radical Environmentalists, Criminal Pseudo-Scientists, and the Fatal Cult of Antihumanism"
>There was a time when humanity looked in the mirror and saw something precious, worth protecting and fighting for—indeed, worth liberating. But now we are beset on all sides by propaganda promoting a radically different viewpoint. According to this idea, human beings are a cancer upon the Earth, a species whose aspirations and appetites are endangering the natural order. This is the core of antihumanism.
>Combining riveting tales from history with powerful policy arguments, Merchants of Despair provides scientific refutations to antihumanism’s major pseudo-scientific claims, including its modern tirades against nuclear power, pesticides, population growth, biotech foods, resource depletion, industrial development, and, most recently, fear-mongering about global warming. Merchants of Despair exposes this dangerous agenda and makes the definitive scientific and moral case against it.

>“Personally, I believe the allegations to be false; not because I work for Elon, but because I have worked closely with him for 20 years and never seen nor heard anything resembling these allegations,” Shotwell wrote.
>Shotwell, who is No. 2 at SpaceX and the company’s top female executive, also noted in the email that SpaceX has a “ZERO tolerance” policy for harassment, adding that every accusation is taken seriously and investigated, “regardless of who is involved.”

This is cute :3

>SelfieSat-1 is the first operational student satellite from Norway, built entirely in-house from off the shelf parts.
>The 1.8 kg satellite will, once deployed, extend a “selfie stick” which has a Raspberry Pi camera mounted on the end. Pointed back at the satellite, which has an LCD screen mounted on it, the camera will image the screen, satellite, and Earth.
>Prior to launch, students in schools from around Norway submitted various images of themselves, pets, and friends to be stored on the satellite prior to launch. About one week after launch when teams in Norway have made contact with the satellite, the LCD screen will begin to display the stored images, take pictures of them, and beam the results back to Earth.

But best of all
>Eventually, anyone from Norway and around the world will be able to upload their own images and, in return, received a picture of their image in space.

Starlink V2 has been delayed by almost 2 years now, roughly inline with Biden admin as well. Even while the FCC claim to want to speed up the process, the application itself had taken 2 years to be filed. Smaller changes required more than half a year to be accepted and are still in the process of being accepted. The FCC admin has done everything possible to delay it.
The basic filing says SpaceX did it because SpaceX competitors have already done it through other countries as well. So SpaceX continues to transparency if FCC intends on further questions with regards to competitor's filings.

Not saying Biden, but its another series of (((coincidences))) with the Biden admin attempt to stall anything Musk related.

Then in the nearing the 6 year mark, SpaceX delays the project by few years, but has shown a prototype warp drive that travelled from earth to moon 1 hour. Yet is not a being used yet in full production for mars and other solar system colonization. People then shift from "spacex scam its impossible" to "spacex scam they under overpromise and underdeliver."

In a statement, NASA says "The data associated with Dragon’s recent crew reentries was normal–the system performed as designed without dispute. There has not been a hypergol leak during the return of a crewed Dragon mission nor any contamination with the heat shield..."1

"SpaceX has a rigorous testing process to put every component and system through its paces to ensure safety and reliability. In early May, a new heat shield composite structure intended for flight on Crew-5 did not pass an acceptance test." ...2

"The test did its job and found a manufacturing defect. NASA and SpaceX will use another heat shield for the flight that will undergo the same rigorous testing prior to flight." 3

Pottery. I'm no stranger to government retardation but I cannot believe a perusal of a radioisotope rocket got funded. According to wiki the specific impulse could be up to 700-800 seconds but with only a newton or two of thrust. The high cost of nuclear but unlike reactors they cannot be turned down or shut down so like a gigawatt-thermal would have to be dissipated.
