Any of you guys hear of the 11:11 phenomenon? Basically large amounts of people from all over the world routinely see the number 11:11 either on clocks or on signs or just other random places in daily life. (I personally have gone through this)

My question is....is there any scientific reasoning for this to be happening? Is the number 11:11 just something peoples eyes are drawn to? or could this really be a huge psychic event occurring?......what did I even ask the last one you guys are scientists.

Whatever number you're looking for you'll find it everywhere. Self fulfilling prophecy.

i seriously went through a stage a couple of years ago when i would always look at a clock when it turned 11:11, it was the wieirdest fucking thing that has ever happened. it sounds stupid but it started to freak me out, the only thing i can think of is that 11:11 must look quite different than other times on a digital clock and so draws the eye.

>> No.1398959

I use to see 4:04 all the time, but then it stopped. Just random chance. And then I began noticing 42s everywhere because I started looking for them. So, either random happenings or your brain is looking for number in life.

Yes. It is called selection bias.

you look at the clock a million times
you remember significant times

>> No.1398973

nope, but I see
1:11, 1:23, 2:34, 3:45, 7:11, 10:10, 12:34, etc.
I think it's just our brains doing what they do best and recognising patterns

>> No.1398976

because when you see other non-patttern number, you wont care. but if its a special number you are more likely to remember. i always remember pattern numbers when i look at the mileage of my car after i stop somewhere.

Even in your peripheral, you notice things. That's why you just 'randomly' look at the time when it's 9:11, etc. In reality, the input of the clock or whatever is always there, but when it's something familiar, your brain clicks, and you look.

Clock says 7:23
>oh I guess it's 7:23
and you forget about it a minute later

Clock says 11:11
>HOLY SHIT UNIQUE NUMBER
and you remember it.

It's magic, bro.

Power of he universe.

The Secret, and shit.

universe is sending you messages through everything

including clocks

and your brain is more powerful than you think it is, it pertakes in this universe, since it is part of it.

Or y'know, selection bias, pattern recognition, confirmation bias. Boring and scientifically proven stuff. Less interresting, but truer.

First clock was made in 723, seeing it on a clock is not like seeing any number.

confirmation bias, and 11:11 being the only time a digital watch can display with only one number, making it symmetric and beautiful.

that is, assuming that we are going with 12-hour clocks, obviously.
if we go for the good variation, with 24 hours, it's out the window, since 22:22.

It's just your brain recognizing it. For instance, since 2001 I notice 9:11 a lot, for obvious reasons.

Any of you guys hear of the Rainbow:Rainbow phenomenon? Basically large amounts of people from all over the world routinely see the double rainbow either in the sky or on Youtubes or just other random places in daily life. (I personally have gone through this)
