Has anyone read this text by Penrose? Of course he does present his own twistor theory here, but I feel it is a concise introduction to most modern mathematical physics, and he tries not to skimp on the math part.

I have a copy next to me right now, it's good.

My only criticism is that while it claims to be accessible to the layman it isn't- I started reading while still in high school, and ended up quitting and restarting a few months back, because I just didn't understand a load of the technical language.
