Think about the economy at the moment. Fewer people need accountants, ergo fewer accounting jobs. It's the same with everything, not just accounting. You'll find something eventually; make yourself known to employment agencies, get out to banks etc., ask around anywhere you can think of. Don't get disheartened by one rejection.
