Is it scientifically possible for a Human being to change their eye color?

I know that the color is attached to Genes but is there a way we could effect these Genes to cause a change in the color or is that just not possible.

Colored Contacts are for people with scientific limitations.

It is possible to change your eye color, similar to dying your hair.

It is not and will NEVER be possible to change your genes to change your eye color, short of pseudo-science bullshit that "rewrites" every cell in your body at the exact same time.

The DNA you're born with is the DNA you're stuck with for the rest of your life.

Possibly.

Although research is headed towards gene therapy for more serious things, y'know...like genetic disease.

In the future, provided the morafags don't get in the way, changing your hair colour or eye colour will probably be possible.

In regards to detecting trisomy-13 i believe, which is down syndrome which is a genetic disorder, it can be discovered through prenetal amniotic fluid screening.

You can't add genes to change eye color, though.

Or, rather, you wouldn't be able to go from brown to blue, since blue is recessive.

Gene therapy only adds genes, not gets rid of them.

Suppress the expression of the brown gene and the recessive gene kicks in.

My mother was born with blue eyes, got an infection in her left eye when she was 19, and it changed the eye's color partially to hazel, which remained after the infection was gone. It also fucked up her eyesight in that eye, but that made her decide to wear a monocle, making her the coolest mom ever, so it's ok.

>Is there a way we can effect genes that cause Down Syndrome so retarded kids are normal?

if we figured out a way to fertilize an egg outside of the body and read the resulting DNA before planting the egg we could have stuff like that.

doctor would be like "this one is a male, looks like blue eyes, 5'10, slight risk for obesity and heart disease... uh oh, looks like down's syndrome"

then parents would be like lol no reroll plz.
