Transcription is controlled by and carried out by which type of molecule?
a. DNA
b. tRNA
c. Ribosomes
d. mRNA
e. Proteins

>> No.1299970

DNA-dependent RNA polymerase

>> No.1299985

there is a lot of steps and regulation having to do with transcription. so its not really controlled by "one" molecule.

>> No.1299996

My teacher's fucking stupid and asks weird questions.
Okay, thanks.

>> No.1300025

e

>> No.1300033

Fuck biology. I think it's tRNA. or mRNA. It's one of those. I always thought it was tRNA cause the t stood for Transcription.

>> No.1300050

ribosomes arent a type of molecule but i think they carry it out.

gotta be e. proteins then.

>>1300033
t stands for transfer i believe.

>> No.1300069

Yeah, the answer your teacher is wanting is most likely proteins. DNA is the template, tRNA has to do with translation, Ribosomes once again have to do with translation, mRNA is the type of molecule that is produced from transcription, Proteins (like RNA polymerase) actually do the activity of making the RNA

>> No.1300074

polymerase is a protein

>> No.1300084

>>1300033
during transcription, mRNA is being produced. mRNA does not have any major role in transcription, it is simply being made by other molecules. these other molecules therefore are responsible for the regulation of transcription, which is RNA polymerase and transcription factors, both of which are proteins

>> No.1300584

Poorly worded question. The answer is E though.

transcription is carried out by me, God.

Beautifull number.

1300000 was better. also god.

yeah, but it is controlled by one TYPE of molecule
this question's legit
here's why:

(a.) DNA
wrong, DNA does not control or carry out transcription, it is only a template

(b.) tRNA
not involved until translation

(c.) Ribosomes
same as (b.)

(d.) mRNA
is only the product of transcription

(e.) Proteins
all the RNA polymerases, helicases, transcription factors, etc. are all proteins

there is NOTHING wrong with this question
