Why do people diss people who get degrees in social sciences, when they themselves are doing soft degrees?

Mathematics for example, I see many people saying it's the best degree, but why the FUCK do you need a degree to add up, mulitply, and divide?

That's as much of a "mickey mouse" degree as any other, what, you can add up faster? Why not use a fucking calculator like the rest of us? These mathematicians are slaving away trying to think of faster ways to do sums, WASTING taxpayers money because frankly we don't need it.

Sociology has much more application to the world, studying how people work and shit. I'm sure if anyone doing maths tried doing my degree they would fail, because it doesn't just involve long division.
