For me, I had to learn organic chemistry first before I learnt 'basic' chemistry
Yes there was a lot I didn't know in organic chem such as intermolecular forces etc etc. But seeing the way that organic molecules were drawn gave me a bit of a practical approach to chemistry that I could apply to everyday life.
This made the process of learning basic chemistry so much easier.

Anyone got any good hacks/tips for physical chem or is it just a grind to learn how entropy, enthalpy, gibbs, hemholtz, temperature,pressure, and volume are connected?

Currently learning about Maxwell relations, and all I'm seeing atm are lots of equations, but I don't get the main point of it all

Group orbitals tells you why certain molecules react with other molecules.

You can have a process that has enough activation energy to start a chemical reaction, but there's no symmetry for the atoms so they don't line up to make new chemical bonds.
