does your country have shitty tests? do you have national exams which are really poorly made and are antiquated at this point?

for instance, in romania, the Romanian literature part of the Baccalaureate is idiotic, as you have to learn by heart 15+ 9-page long essays
also, the mathematics part of the bac is retarded as well, as it doesn't really test anything, and it's made so that even the stupidest can pass

Ah, a romanian. my mortal enemy.
In hungary, we have similar problems with the literature érettségi(=bac). But i think thats just literature being something that should be cultural and not a subject in class.
I have a class now at uni called "variety of life". I'm studying to become a geneticist, but through this mandatory class i have to learn the hungarian and latin names of over 400 species this semester and had to do the same last semester. Pointless and retarded.
The only reason it might be helfull is just brain exercise.
Ps.: for whatever reason i should hate romanians, or so im told so *khm* fuck you romanian gyps.
