Like I can program but it’s not like I have graph paper and shit on hand, I use graphs only whenever the need comes to think through a vector related problem as I’m a code monkey that does unity scripting. I don’t actually do that deeper back end stuff compsci majors do. I just hammer at stuff to get a game to work in a game engine. Than get called a game developer for it despite being more a game designer just because I am assed to sit my ass down and program more than a hundred lines of code. And mind I’ve found programming to be poetry like in some ways where more code isn’t better code. More like “how to do this stuff without copy pasta or hard coding like a pussy”?

Get rid of the undergrad program and make it graduate only (professors knew it was a mistake back when the major started in the 60s)
Put intro into coding and algorithms into middle and high schools (already happening)

Honestly, I think it's pretty normal for males to relate with Lain. She's not really male nor female, she's a representation of the core proto-feminine state within all humans. In females this (generally) develops into what we know as female in childhood, in men it's modified and takes on the characteristics we know as male. There you have it. That's the secret to why males would watch anime about barely pubescent girls. It ticks all the boxes, regression to the infantile and early childhood pre-gender state, regression to puberty, and the ability to look back on the whole thing anchored in the adult present. I can't think of any better mechanism than this. If you make a show about a little boy men are just going to say "he should", "he should've", "he needs to" and so on, they will blame and criticize him. With proto-feminine characters it still affords access to the core self, but there's none of the rest of it. I'm not sure why the Japanese seem to know this so much better than the other races, but they do seem to think like uncut Jews which is interesting.
