I got 112 on that but my issue with it is that it is way too particular and not broad enough.

That particular quiz is just measuring your ability to sense a visual pattern in a sequence of images.

There are more aspects to real intelligence than this.

I think IQ is just a buzzword, although, I do think that there is definitely a correlation between people who have broad understanding of things and a great ability to decipher patterns from visual data like this, I think that there is more to a person than their pattern recognition abilities.

Interesting... the test is kinda limited because it only asks for you to figure out the visual patterns... The main thing I like about it is that you don't need words to answer the questions. It's not a very broad test though.

Frick. It's an interesting IQ test, with a lot of angry brainlets who don't get the patterns. My objection is that it's basically just 1-2 patterns over and over again, so if you crack that one pattern you basically solve the whole test. They're essentially assigning 1 STDEV of IQ per pattern you recognize. I missed one pattern so I got docked one STDEV, while observing three patterns or so, which got me my score. All-in-all, interesting test.

Yeah but these ones that OP linked are questions based on your ability to "figure things out" with very limited knowledge of what is going on. You need to be smart in order to see the patterns. Because if you are smart you'd be able to figure out what's going on in the images and figure out the answer yourself instead of drooling looking at it.

The raven's norway and denmark online tests are pretty crap. They're normed against a high-IQ average that obsessively practices similar items on apps on their phones to try and get into mensa. Also they give you less time to answer the same number of questions an official test would, biasing them in favour of speed over accuracy people.

Also raven's isn't actually as good as people suggest. It's not a pure fluid test, some high-difficulty items use patterns taught in university maths classes and the test loads at about 0.25 with spatial ability. That and the fact that raven's shows the strongest flynn effect of any test despite g being in decline within the population indicates it's testing a very narrow ability to pattern recognize rather than g. Most of the sources for its vaunted 0.8 loading with g are decades old and newer studies have shown it to be much less impressive.
