Is opiate use for short term pain relief (ie postsurgery or major injury) likely to result in addiction?

>> No.12636812

>>12636806
Depends on the opiate, but just take the recommended dosages and you should be fine.

__technically speaking__ would it be possible for me to remove both of my eyes by myself at home and not die instantly in the process?

>> No.12637343

>>12637313
yes probably but i would need a crazy amount of will
why would you want to do that
do the eyes need to stay intact?

>> No.12637506

Statistically no. I beleive the prevailing theory is that addiction is also mediated by escapism, if your Life is shit, it feels a lot better to get away from it. ( Obviously addiction is not 100% psychological but it's the psychological part is important here )

Usually people take opioids for pain management and they often stop when it's not needed.. tho not always, but for surgery and shit it seems to be the case most of the time, but like when used for like mild pain, or whatever perdue is peddling shit for, it's more likely, as the pain doesn't like stop in the same way

No, the eyes do not need to stay intact

There is 0% chance of addiction from using as prescribed, unless you are on long-term maintenance. If your life sucks tho you may miss the warm soft chemical blankie.

I got addicted to them since I have pain. If you don't have pain just take dxm or the compound in tea (drink tea too) so you don't have withdrawal. I hate having back pain, I think I got it from carrying backpacks with books and not having a locker as a kid.
