Once you know fundamentals, you can keep going as far as you want. Math is built on truths. It's a reliable thing to go to in this world of chaos

I made the mistake of taking a philosophy of mathematics course in my last year, now I doubt all sorts of things I don't know what to do. It's not like physics is even better, a lot of modern stuff is questionable as well. I just wanted to study and know I was acquiring genuine knowledge.

Gravity isn't even a force bro. Knowledge is going to change over time. The more important thing is you have the ability to think critically when faced with new facts.

except not really. formalism failed. there is no solid basis only an interplay of intuition and patchwork formalism. it is also way too simplistic and leads to many delusions about the world. such as muh simplicity in physics pseudoscience, which is a leftover of christian scholasticism and was known to be faulty hundreds of years ago.

math, philosophy has no answers, literally only opinions from idiots who debate themselves on hypothetical nothing burgers.
i like camus rendition and interpritation of sisyphus for example, but i wont pretend it answers a single question about the real world.
cant make a bridge with philosophy. not even a bridge of theseus.
Sure lets get answers about the world from people who cant even remember atlantis was only a thought experiment mentioned in allegory.. but sure.

would the coastline paradox prevent me from providing you with accurate information, if you asked for it with a certain tolerance and specified scale? say accurate to within 10m at a scale of 1:1000?
not really, but it still remains true.
real world usage and applied math makes people happy anon, and generally better off in life.
abstract and theoretical never made anyone but nutters actually happy until proof was envisaged and schema could be applied.
this is worse than semantics, this is actual pedantry.

I think this thread has really lost the point. There is some retard saying that Russel's paradox on ZFC debunks the entirety of mathematics and aswell OP saying that mathematics is an "undeniable religious truth". We aren't debating about mathematics anymore, this is philosophy, analytical philosophy.
