I've heard before, that some Christans say stuff similar to; "evolution was the method God used to make man & etc.", "the big bang was God making the universe", "much of the Bible is up for interpretation / man's interpretation of the word of God can be inaccurate, even some words written by man in certain scriptures"

Let's be honest with ourselves here, what's needed is a rainbow flag and a blood sacrifice worthy of science

Why would i need to blend one with the other? I think all religion exist because in a time of chaos and violence, it was a good way to convince people to act morally. Some people cannonised the best anecdotes end the words of the wisest people of the age. It seemed like a good idea at the time, later peoples tribalistc tendencies and greed led to it being used to justify violence. As for the answers to the big questions about the universe, like where did it come from, wont be found in the books different peoples wrote to summarise the morality of there group. The task of figureing that out is up to phylosophers, mathematicians and physicists, who may or may not ever find sayed answers. Chosing a religion is more a declaration of what set of morals and values you try to adhere to, then anything else.

Non-overlapping magisteria. Logos (reason, science) to know the world, and nous (hesychasm, etc) to know God.
