Do we have any leads on what happens after we die? Or consciousness in general?

Neurofeedback suggests it's like turning off a radio transmitter, such as a walkie talkie. When you turn off the radio, does it still transmit? Or is the transmission gone?

However, this is only a theory of our brain on death. I choose to believe that if we as a species are incapable of discovering the origin of the universe (if point of origin = 0, and 0 cannot become 1 without 1, then what is 1?) due to circumstance or lack of technological advancement, then maybe there is a form of God that exists.

I can't get understand the jump to a deity.
If by god you mean some sort of abstract phenomenon that we can't conceptualize with the tools of our universe (because we're inside it) I think I'd agree.

What happens after we die? No.
The most real answer to that question is our heart stops pumping and our cells stop functioning and our body starts to rapidly decay just like every other complex biological organism on the planet.

In terms of consciousness, the definition of what is considered conscious seems to change every few years as New discoveries are made in psychology and neuroscience. All in all it seems to be this ambiguous idea of the self that arises from us having higher thinking capabilities.

Anyone that would know is dead. People are bullshitting you and themselves if they tell you they know 100% what happens to your consciousness after death.

Either nothing or reincarnation.
Alternatively, if we assume eternalist philosophy of time is correct, then your life is never really ending, which may sometimes be a bad thing.

>if you destroy the part of the brain responsible for speech, you cannot speak
>"Sure."
>if you destroy the part of the brain responsible for vision, you cannot see
>"Fair enough."
>if you remove any individual part of the brain, the function it's responsible for ceases to be
>"Makes sense to me."
>so if you remove the entire brain, consciousness must stop and there is nothing afterwards
>"No, after you remove everything it goes to heaven/gets reincarnated!"

emergent phenomena. things like consciousness are often refered to as such. We dont know the mechanism by which it emerges, but we do know what it emerges from. The brain. Therefore, if the brain decays, said phenomenon will cease to emerge from it. So when you die, your consciousness will cease to exist, the same way it didn exits before your brain formed.
