Can someone answer me this?

If an interstellar object did come flying into our solar system, what are the chances that it flies through on a course that takes it so close to our sun and to the habitable zone planets instead of somewhere further out? Or is that just inevitable because of the way the sun's gravity would capture an object?

The fact that it came so close to us and venus before swinging out on its voyage it the thing that makes it seem most likely to be an alien probe in my opinion.
