Speaking of price, imagine if raptors were as expensive as RS-25 engines. Both have more or less the same thrust. The latter is 100.000.000$/u, assuming a generous 50% of margin for Aerojet Rocketdyne, that's a cost of US$50 million. My guess would be hydrogen embrittled leading edges of the turbomachinery blades, since poor Engine 4 has already been fired 6 times, twice more than is strictly speaking safe.
