As someone that’s working to be an AE in the area, I’m pretty excited about it, but aside from that, Huntsville has a really good quality of life with a significantly lower cost of living than Colorado Springs. Operationally, Redstone Arsenal is an Army facility instead of Air Force, so it should help accomplish the goal of keeping the USAF from trying to muscle back into the space game. Industry-wise, both cities have a ton of highly trained professionals in space and defense, but Huntsville has the advantage of a major NASA facility (and the exclusively space-focused contractors that accompany it).

The BEST and most solid argument is it's a great driver of technological innovation. Space has pushed tons of technology forward, and is used in almost everything nowadays, even stuff like farming.
Any achievements we make in sustainability, power generation/storage, production etc. for anything related to spaceflight will also be leveraged to make things better on earth. Spaceflight isn't a zero sum game, and it's stupid to think of it as such.

Spacex make their money mostly by getting contracts especially from the government, but if the government hate them then they will just give them all to those retards at ULA or maybe they will add some red tape like refusing to let them launch a rocket except when a number of inconvenient and almost pointless hoops are not jumped through in the right order or by just delaying them constantly.

I think that is only valid if every spacefaring species were ruthless. Even if a significant minority of such species were compassionate and cooperative then there might be a trend towards space cooperation. Just look at the social differences between humans and chimpanzees. Humans are naturally cooperative at some level and thus this encourages more humans to be the same to survive. Chimpanzees are much more brutal and would often cheat each other out, cooperation there is pointless

I'm pretty sure that even in this photo, the actual stars are but small dots. Even our closest neighbors are still very far away. But stars are bright as fuuuuuuuuuuck so they create a huge lensing effect
As a side note I went down an autistic rabbit hole last year and did a bunch of wikipedia binging on close stars that have been directly imaged. Besides Betelgeuse, I think Antares looks really good. You can see the differences that form on the surface
